Description

What is this role responsible for?

Be aware of the hazards when working around CNC machines and any other tools or equipment used in the area;
Be aware of all safety control measures and guards used to eliminate those hazards, and have a responsibility to ensure that they are used at all times without exception;
Be familiar with the start up and shut down procedures for the machine.
Perform the daily, weekly, and periodical maintenance that is done to keep the machines in good working order;
Having a general knowledge of veneer species, cuts, and different matching patterns are a requirement of workers in the CNC department.
Having an awareness of the quality standards for the CNC area is a requirement;
Know how to stack product being unloaded from the machines so debris or chips in between the layers won't damage it.
Product moving through the production process should be accompanied by a work order package to provide detailed instruction as to what has to be done to that product;
Have a knowledge of using small tools,(files, pliers, utility knife, digital caliper, screw drivers, hex wrenches, chisels etc )

What is required for the role?

Basic computer skills are a requirement.
Is inquisitive by nature and driven by the "pursuit of excellence" to consistently ensure constant growth and achievement.
Demonstrates good initiative working safely, reporting and participating in Environmental Health and Safety.

Asset:

12 years experience in a wood or manufacturing shop,
Previous experience as a CNC machine operator.
