Our Edmonton location is seeking an experienced Security & Screening Agent to support our diverse operations. This part-time position will work a variety of shifts including early mornings, mid day, and late nights.


Main Functions:

The Security & Screening Agent works to ensure the safety and protection of EFC's property, personnel and information.


Responsibilities:


  • Accurately and efficiently screen passengers and their baggage using screening equipment.
  • Monitor, operate and maintain security equipment including; videos, computers, radios, and phones.
  • Ensure that the Facility's Safety and Emergency Procedures are followed in response to Fire Alarms and other Site Emergencies.
  • Demonstrate judgment, common sense and decisionmaking ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.
  • Observation, detailed record keeping and report writing for all incidents.
  • Undertake site specific training, follow direction and guidance from Supervisor/Manager.
  • Demonstrate an active interest in promoting safety consciousness in the workplace.
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Ensure exceptional, courteous and respectful customer service through compliance.
  • Comply with and participate in the Company's Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Previous security experience in the aviation industry in a similar role including baggage screening is required.
  • First Aid and CPR would be an asset.
  • Airport Security Clearance and Driver's Abstract is required as a condition of employment.
  • Solicitor General Alberta Security Services License is required.
  • Able to identify colors, shapes, forms and features (e.g. X-Ray images).
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License is required
  • No Graduated Driver's License permitted.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous record keeping, report writing and observation skills.
  • Physically able to lift bags up to 45 pounds.
  • Comfortable with computer programs (Excel, Word, Internet)
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Able to stand and/or sit for an extended period of time.
  • Able to bend, squat or kneel to perform searches.
  • Able to reach above/below level of shoulders.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Able to work with the public and deal with conflict resolution.
  • A positive and professional attitude.
  • Able to work within a structured and highly regulated environment.
  • Highly motivated and able to work with mínimal or no supervision.
  • Punctual and diligent.
  • Able to work collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Team.
