Design and implement and governance processes and frameworks that support the Underwriting Strategy of Aviva Personal Insurance (PI). Collaborating closely with risk teams to ensure that all risk and control measures are effective. Continuously supervise, challenge, and improve existing controls while constantly measuring effectiveness.

Provide support for SPI (broker and direct) on risk and control measures and execute on improvements to reduce exposure to risk and ensure we provide the best possible customer outcomes through accurate day to day governance aimed at constantly improving how we operate.


What You'll Do- Work with technical underwriting, product, operations, and enablement teams to improve framework and processes to ensure they adequately reduce risk by identifying trends, discrepancies and opportunities.- Support the SPI business functions to cultivate a positive and proactive risk culture that values doing the right thing for our customers and making sure our business practices uphold our strong reputation.- Monitor and challenge risks with our external MGU & MGA relationships.

Provide recommendations to strengthen frameworks and reduce exposure where we have less visibility.- Work in partnership with underwriting front-line staff and front-line managers to improve monitoring and adherence to established controls- Monitor the risk and control status, by regularly reviewing controls, and assessing inherent and residual risk.- Conduct checks to make certain that the risks are within risk tolerance and acquire evidence of this for internal and external partners.

- Support identification and reporting of potential risk events and issues including reporting and remediation as required- Support regular testing and management of reporting for applicable controls working with all levels of Aviva's risk functions as required- Steadfast focus on consistency across all areas of PI- Act as the main point of contact for SPI in the development of processes and workflows to ensure principled approach to risk is considered- Promote strong communication to ensure accurate messaging of information flows both to the front-line staff and management- Champion positive relationships with internal and external partners to drive outstanding outcomes for our customers through maintaining and creation of frameworks- Responsible for day-to-day management and support regulatory compliance of NPIs risk and control nee in product, underwriting and service


What You'll Bring- University degree and/or College Diploma- IP, FCIP, CRM designation or equivalent designation is beneficial.- 5 years Technical Underwriting experience including an understanding of the P&C regulatory environment- An understanding of business processes and operations, and insurance principles and practices is required.- Prior experience with project initiatives in a supporting role- Prior auditing experience or experience in designing or assessing the effectiveness of processes, systems and controls with the ability to identify key business risks.
