- Education: College/CEGEP
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
- Gather information on current government policies regarding recreation, sports and physical activities
- Make recommendations on possible government policies related to recreation, sports and physical activities
- Supervise professional staff, program leaders and instructors and volunteer staff
- Conduct research and develop government policies related to recreation, sports, fitness and athletic safety and standards
- Prepare research papers, educational texts or articles
- Perform administrative tasks
- Co-ordinate special events
- Provide expert advice and consulting services in the design, development and administration of sports, fitness and recreation programs and activities
- Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.)
- Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.)
- Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers
- Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations
- Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
