We are seeking a
Health, Safety, and Environment Student for our
Canadian Buildings Division - Toronto District to work on some of the most exciting projects currently underway specifically in the
Greater Toronto Area.

We are looking for students that are available for a
minimum of 4 months starting in May 2023.
Here's how an
HSE Student for our Toronto office contributes to our team:


Responsibilities:


  • Has an opportunity to work with assisting the HSE Professional with inspections and incidental investigations.
  • Manages documents (i.e., data entry, SMC entries, taking minutes, filing etc.) while also reviewing paperwork (i.e., PSI, tailgate meetings, safe work procedure, trend analysis).
  • Gets the chance to develop training materials and assist with the orientation of new employees.
  • Monitors and maintains the environmental program, while also recognizing and following PCL and local legislative requirements.
  • Be able to analyze sitespecific trends and incidents and reporting findings to district.
  • Gathers/reviews/distributes safetyrelated statistical information, and interprets, communicates, and reinforces project safety standards to workforce.

Qualifications:


  • Ability to implement HSE program elements and safe operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of environmental requirements and the ability to implement systems which meet compliance.
  • Ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards.
  • The ability to determine the cause of an incident, and to initiate and implement corrective action to prevent the likelihood of reoccurrence.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong willingness to learn.
