    Production Utility Labourer


    Class 1 Utility Labourer

    LOCATION: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

    DEPARTMENT: ADMINISTRATION & FINANCE

    Role


    The Production Utility Labourer position within the Production department is responsible for performing tasks such as shipping, pipe movements and operating production machinery in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures, complying with defined safety, quality and operations standards.

    Please note: Tenaris requires employees to pass a pre‑employment drug & alcohol test and fit test for this position as it is a safety sensitive position.

    Responsibilities

    • This specialty is an entry level position which can lead to progression to coating operators.
    • Perform material handling activities such as loading, unloading, and moving products and materials by hand or using material handling equipment such as conveyor belt, overhead crane or jib crane.
    • Conduct and accurately complete pre‑safety checklists.
    • Assist with equipment setup and machine/line changeover in an efficient and safe manner.
    • Using power and manual tools, complete tasks safely, efficiently and to quality standards.
    • Carry out duties in an effective manner meeting safety, quality, productivity and efficiency standards.
    • Ensure proper use of the company assets, as well as checking, and reporting of malfunctioning equipment.
    • Attend and participate in training activities to maintain and increase company knowledge.
    • Proactively suggest improvements and participate in continuous improvement activities.
    • Actively participate in company safety procedures and programs: correct unsafe work practices or situations; follow reporting protocols for violations; participate in the Hazard Identification process.
    • Perform other duties as required, including, but not limited to warehouse activities, housekeeping and administrative duties.
    • Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances and attend and participate in department safety meetings.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 1 year experience in an industrial setting.
    • Candidates with experience in shift and/or on call work are preferred.
    • Knowledge of safe equipment operation and procedures, maintenance and cleaning standards.
    • Forklift certification, an asset.
    • Jib Crane or Overhead certification is an asset.
