Job Summary

  • Information Technology Services (ITS) is dedicated to a constructive, teamorientated environment, gathering varied perspectives, sharing knowledge, and building effective partnerships that enable our partners to achieve their goals by advising, providing solutions, and delivering service excellence in alignment with the University's mission and goals. Reporting to the Associate Director, Operations, the Research Systems Analyst manages and maintains systems and storage infrastructure for research projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates closely with researchers, IT professionals and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate design of storage solution, data security and integrity.
  • Deploys, configures, monitors, and maintains storage and systems to ensure optimal performance and availability for research data storage needs.
  • Performs outreach and collaborates with research teams to estimate data storage and system requirements. Provides technical support to researchers and IT staff regarding storagerelated issues, diagnosing and resolving problems promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Provides advice and guidance to researchers regarding Research Data Compliance and security.
  • Understands changes to compliancy requirements and actively participates in security design, implementation and response.
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation of storage and system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines for reference and training purposes.

Note

  • The successful applicant may work inperson on campus, primarily remotely (with occasional presence inperson oncampus), or perform a hybrid of the two as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Information Technology plus a minimum of three to five years related experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Proven experience in managing storage and systems, such as NAS, SAN, Servers, operating systems, and cloudbased storage and system solutions.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot storagerelated issues effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate and consult with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Detailoriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
