Primary Focus
We are seeking a Program Safety Advisor to join our team.

RPM-Trucking Industry Safety in collaboration with the Manitoba Trucking Association provides Manitoba Trucking Industry employers and workers in the Manitoba trucking industry with health and safety expertise, training and supports within an accessible framework that will assist them to create healthy, safe, productive workplaces and an integrated culture of safety.

Able to work with stakeholders and client's to ensure SMS program delivery that is industry-specific

A self
- starter who can operate with mínimal supervision and is motivated to find solutions to challenges as they occur.

Experience and understanding of the SAFE Work Certified process

A team player, willing to go that extra mile to help support and guide OHS within our industry.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders including client leaders, management, workers and governing bodies.
  • Make recommendations on areas for improvement based on client site visits.
  • Conduct risk assessments, gap analysis, inspections, and audits.
  • Review and evaluate audits and reports completed by internal and/or external auditors.
  • Track and manage client's Safe Work Certification.
  • Provide advice on health and safety legislation, standards, code of practice and guidelines.
  • Assist clients with the interpretation of legislation, improvement orders, and other health and safety documents.
  • Implement, maintain and deliver training.
  • Develop health and safety programs and training.
  • Assist in the development of tools and resources relevant to health and safety programming.
  • Promote RPM programs by participating in safety and health prevention activities.
  • Assist in developing communications for the public, clients, and other stakeholders using social media.
  • Assist with Health and Safety Committee / Representative activities.
  • Assist in the marketing and public relations activities relevant to RPM Safety Programs.
  • Assist in maintaining the RPM website to ensure information is current and accessible to clients.
  • Assist in preparing for RPM/MTA events and attend these events (during and after work hours).

Applicants Qualifications:


  • A minimum of 3 years working in the Safety and Health Field.
  • Preference will be given to those graduated from recognized postsecondary training (certificate or diploma) in courses related to safety, health, and environment management.
  • Designations related to Safety and Health would be considered an asset.
  • Understand the SAFE Work Certified Audit and Maintenance Audit tools as it relates to clients Safety Management Systems.
  • Understands the regulatory environment of the transportation industry.
  • Must have the minimum of a valid Class 5 vehicle driver's license, a reliable vehicle and be available to travel.
