Intermediate Structural Technician/REVIT Modeller
to join our growing Canadian Operations.

This position will support our Engineering and Design Operations **for multi-discipline projects in various industries including rail, stations and transportation facilities, water/wastewater treatment plants, energy, solid waste, food, and agricultural, environmental, and other industrial buildings.

The Intermediate Structural Technician/REVIT Modeller will work closely with other members of the Structural Team as well as the multi-disciplinary project teams from across GHD's regional and global network.

Preparation of structural drawings and details from conception to final design, according to established standards and procedures for a wide variety of steel and concrete structures including shallow and deep foundations, transit stations, treatment plants, pump and transfer stations, processing facilities, push and retaining walls.
Working in various procurement strategies such as Design-BidBuild and Design-Build environments to advance structural design packages.
Working independently on various types of projects and assist senior BIM Modellers in executing large and/or multiple projects.
Adhering to GHD BIM standards and procedures and implementing compliance on projects.
Quantity takeoffs.
Producing consistent, high quality structural work.
Communication with structural leads, designers, and project team members on regular basis to ensure effective and timely flow of project information to meet scheduled deadlines.
Participating, when required, in advancement of GHD Standard Structural Details and BIM Standards including promoting changes, mentor on updates to tools and methods, assisting with training development and lessons learned exercises.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

Technician/Technologist with Civil Engineering Technology diploma with background in Civil or Structural Engineering is considered an asset.

5-10 years' experience in designing and drafting high quality drawings/deliverables of multiple types of facility and/or transportation structures.

Superior attention to detail, problem solving and organizational skills.
High Proficiency in
Revit and AutoCAD

Solid understanding of the following software is considered an asset: Navisworks, Dynamo, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D and MicroStation.
Competency/expertise in
REVIT and BIM Collaboration tools e.g. (ProjectWise, BIM mandatory):
Ability to interact with external entities to interpret and understand BIM/CAD requirements and BIM scope.
Strong communication skills for teambased working environment.
Good understanding of level of effort required to complete the work.
Positive demeanor, good communication and social skills.
Ability to work in multiple parallel projects and within a team environment.
