Purpose:


The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies (LA&PS) is the largest Faculty at York University with over 24,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and almost 100 programs delivered through 25 Departments, Schools and Colleges, plus the IBM Markham Learning Site.

The Learning Technology Support Specialist serves as a resource to faculty and teaching assistants, providing consultation and technical assistance with regard to the use of learning technologies to meet learning goals and outcomes.

The Learning Technology Support Specialist assists with web and multimedia development to support in-class, blended and distance learning instruction, as well as provides assistance to identified projects within the office.

The Learning Technology Support Specialist balances the learning technology needs of the faculty with competing and conflicting priorities. The Learning and Technology Support Specialist sets project priorities and devises solutions.

The Learning Technology Support Specialist will also support the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and York University, and contribute to a positive, supportive, and student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Education:


Completion of a post-secondary program [minimum three (3) years] required, in Computing, Information Technology or Instructional Design, or an equivalent of three (3) years recent experience [defined as within the last four (4) years] working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks.

This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below. University degree preferred
