    SHN is embarking on ambitious capital expansion and renewal projects through a multi-year redevelopment strategy (Master Plan) that will ensure our hospitals′ services and facilities meet Scarborough′s evolving needs into the future, and transform healthcare for our diverse and growing community. The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role providing engagement management and budget tracking for all capital projects.

    Responsibilities:

    The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for maintaining, and reporting on all SHN related capital items. This will include the successful management of the financial analysis and reconciliation process and the implementation of project management controls. In this role, the successful incumbent will be responsible for preparing and leading the following activities:

    • Perform various financial analyses such as reconciliations and variance analysis;

    • Manage activities for budgets and forecasts and to project and track financial metrics;

    • Interact frequently with various organizational stakeholders to present analyses, discuss recommendations and provide project financial advice;

    • Able to build complex financial reporting models in excel and customize project financial reporting

    • Track expenditures and monitor the upcoming payments to ensure they meet the forecast and are within budget;

    • Work closely with the project management office (PMO) on financial tasks and perform day-to-day capital management activities;

    • Participate in project planning and management activities and keep the hospital leadership team posted on the project status;

    • Provide additional financial support as required

    Requirements:


    • University Degree and CPA Designation

    • Minimum of 4-6 years′ experience in a financial analysis role particularly with capital;

    • Minimum of 4-6 years′ experience with the entire Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced level PowerPoint and expert Excel Skills (Excel certification will be an asset);

    • Ability and willingness to travel as needed (frequency is dependent on the office location and project assignments);

    • Experience producing and delivering appropriate communications to the Executive Level;

    • Experience summarizing results and producing management reports;

    • Outstanding attention to detail and adherence to project deadlines;

    • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team;

    • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;

    • Ability to "think outside the box" while identifying problems and developing creative solutions;

    • Demonstrates values consistent with SHN′s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation;

    • Utilize protective equipment provided and identify and reports hazards;

    • Engages in ethical conduct and strives to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community;

    • Excellent work performance and attendance.

    Asset:


    • Major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Management;

    • Experience managing large program finances

    • Program management experiences, with PMP

    • Experience with MS Access and MS Project applications;

    • Experience working with a variety of team members (e.g. vendors, consultants);

    • Experience developing project pricing models and performing scenario analysis;
