Job Overview


The Ontario Sales Manager provides strategic sales and proposal leadership for K-Line Maintenance & Construction Ltd in the Ontario market.

They are responsible for executing K-Line's sales strategy in line with overall marketing activities, and in alignment with the overall corporate strategy and mission, values, goals, and objectives.

The incumbent is responsible for driving revenue growth and developing new business as well as maintaining existing relationships.

This is done through knowledge and understanding of K-Line's business operations, customer base and market conditions, and through knowledge of trends in sales and customer service best practices.

This will also involve leading the proposal development team in tailoring tenders and bids to align with corporate strategy as well as direct coordination with the estimating team.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the development, implementation and monitoring of K-Line's marketing strategy, marketing mix, marketing plans and major marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with the overall corporate strategy.
  • Provide advice and direction on major business development activities and leverage opportunities to increase customer awareness and income generation.
  • Work with proposal team to create and manage proposal timelines and workload
  • Support and assist with networking efforts and provide coaching to key executives to develop relationships and alliances with potential clients.
  • Execute an effective ebusiness strategy to ensure K-Line continues to have an effective online presence in terms of web traffic, engaging content, dynamic functionality, and appropriate branding
  • Prepare K-Line's annual Sales budget and determine estimated ROI by forecasting future revenue derived from various marketing campaigns and initiatives
  • Lead and generate regular reports utilizing inhouse CRM tools to report on sales performance by division
  • Conduct regular quarterly meetings with existing customers at an executive level with the support of divisional leads, project management teams, and other support groups such as HSEQ, etc.
  • Lead customer satisfaction program with the support of business development team (customer surveys, etc.)
  • Creating and giving presentations to clients, supervisors and shareholders
  • Oversee marketing campaigns for their company with marketing team, including managing the company's market presence through tradeshows, events, etc.
  • Update senior leadership on the progress of marketing activities and reporting on the results of campaigns
  • Effectively communicates the teams' operational priorities, strategies, goals and objectives

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years' sales experience in the utility/high voltage industry or public sector construction
  • Bachelor's degree in commerce, Business Administration (preferably with a specialization in Sales & Marketing) is required
  • Sales related professional development, proposal, and/or estimating courses is an asset
  • Strong understanding of the High Voltage industry, the relevant competitive landscape, and the legal and regulatory environment in which K-Line operates
  • Highly familiar with the principles and practices of proposals, estimating, operations, engineering and sales and estimating
  • Articulate with highly effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion, problem solving and conflict management skills
  • Customer focused with the ability to appreciate the needs of the customers and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and highly developed execution skills
