Department Overview

champions TD Insurance's efforts to consistently improve our customer and employee experience, execute on
key strategic projects and programs for the business, and build the TD Insurance vision for the future. We are
a team of rule makers and breakers, negotiators, strategists, delivery experts, designers, and diplomats.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Innovation, the Manager, Innovation, oversees the development of the TDI
innovation roadmap as well as monitoring and reporting of key innovation trends and leads successful delivery
of innovation initiatives.


Job Details
The general accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Build TDI innovation roadmap, aligning TDI long term strategy and business strategy for General
Insurance, Life and Health, Claims with innovation priorities
Develop TDI "house view" on areas of opportunity and disruption. In collaboration with business
partners, publish position papers on key trends / areas of focus
Monitor and develop perspective on innovation competitive insights, and scan the market for
partnership opportunities with external providers (e.g. Insurtechs, startups)
Develop executive level communications including, but not limited to, weekly innovation summary,
monthly updates on key areas of opportunity, quarterly TDI Board Innovation report and ad hoc
analyses
Work closely with other innovation groups within TDBG to leverage the knowledge and innovation work
being done across the Bank
Accountable for the success of innovation initiatives and drive results to achieve expected benefits and
outcomes
Prepare business case to support innovation opportunities
Work with business stakeholders to develop innovation initiatives to solve business problem statements
Responsible for the commercialization of innovation initiatives and projects, leading cross-functional
groups to ensure successful delivery of initiatives to drive results
Manage stakeholders such as, but not limited to: Product, Technology, Pricing, Customer Strategy,
Centralized Project Management Team, TDBG as well as external vendors
Responsible for the results monitoring of innovation initiatives, engaging and influencing stakeholders in
order to iterate and adapt until stability is achieved
Ensure smooth migration of innovations/products to the different business units once stability is
achieved
Responsible for the operationalization of partnership opportunities with external vendors
Identify areas of opportunities in the delivery of innovation initiatives, challenge the status quo and
influence stakeholders to adopt better processes
Foster a culture of innovation


Job Requirements
Highly motivated individual, flexible and able to quickly adapt to unfamiliar, ambiguous or changing
conditions
Strong collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and
employees. Know how to "get things done" within TDI and TDBG
Ability to drive change and influence with stakeholders at various levels of the organization
Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple
deadlines and priorities
Superior interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with ability to present information or
arguments in a convincing manner
engaging others to provide input
5+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, research or innovation with the focus being how a
business can unlock or create additional value
Desire to challenge the status quo
Education and accreditation
Undergraduate degree required, MBA preferred


Proficiency in Other than French

  • This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support or deal with employees or colleagues who require services and support in a language other than French.
