Who are we looking for?
GHD Digital's Product Development team develops award-winning software solutions for Municipal Governments, Utilities, and the Environmental markets.

The Scrum Master / Lead is responsible for leading a global team of software and quality assurance team members in the delivery of high quality and performant software solutions.

Reporting to the Software Development Manager in GHD's Global Software & Solutions Center (GSSC), you will:


  • Drive and own responsibilities as Scrum Master for multiple software development teams
  • Promote Agile values, principles and practices within the organization.
  • Schedule, manage and facilitate Scrum events as part of each iteration.
  • Facilitate meetings and communication between product management team stakeholders and the development team members to ensure the highest value work is top priority in the backlog.
  • Create, manage and publish team metrics and reporting from Jira ensuring team velocity are clear and visible to project stakeholders.
  • Manage the coordination of the development team backlog, work prioritization, assignment, and tracking in Jira.
  • Assist in the administration of Jira.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Software Architecture, Development, and Quality teams within GSSC to ensure the efficient delivery of commitments.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Customer Support team on the proper prioritization and intake of work initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Cloud Operations / DevOps teams and product Program Manager on release planning and readiness to ensure that deployments are delivered in a timely manner and that any development dependencies are well coordinated.
  • Facilitate collaboration within the development team on a daily basis to remove impediments and reduce risks.
  • Foster an environment of trust and collaboration within the team.
Strategy

  • Develop strategies on how to iteratively increase velocity and quality
  • Develop strategies for maintaining predictable velocity and estimation of tasks and initiatives
  • Work with QA team to ensure proper test methodologies are implemented in terms of test case creation, tracking and automation
  • Ensure that any production issues that arrive are coordinated and scheduled within development team sprints to ensure that SLAs are being met
  • Define strategies on how to properly balance development and support delivery related activities, minimizing impacts to committed work.
  • Support the development and implementation of software engineering standards across the Digital business.
Operations

  • Work with Software Development Manager to implement service level agreements (SLAs), business requirements, infrastructure support, and technical support structures.
  • Work closely with Software Development Manager and other stakeholders in identifying potential areas of cost savings.
People
