The
Financial Analyst, Operations Finance role demonstrates our commitment to the Team Member Experience by providing integral services and support to our communities and their teams.

As a
Financial Analyst,
Operations Finance, your typical day will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead development, maintenance and improvement of financial business models to support business strategies and process improvement initiatives including rent rate audits and labour management analysis.
  • Partner with Executive Directors, Operations Vice Presidents and Vice President Regional Operations (VPROs) to provide timely, accurate and quality business analysis for decision making.
  • Analyze monthly financial results and communicate risks and opportunities to Operations, following up on management plans.
  • Act as "go to" support and share expertise including training team members and Operations.
  • Perform monthend close procedures and reporting with quality and diligence, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
  • Play a larger role in the budget and forecasting process.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance and all Support Offices team.
  • Assist with the integration of new acquisitions and/or developments, as needed.
  • Performing other duties and support various projects as assigned.

Must haves:


  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Commerce or related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years' finance experience in a fullcycle accounting and/or financial planning and analysis position.
  • Working toward a Chartered Professional Accounting designation is preferred.
  • Selfstarter with a sense of urgency and able to learn quickly, solve problems and work independently.
  • Strong organization skills with an ability to balance multiple projects in a fast paced environment, while upholding attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills and accounting knowledge including previous experience with financial statements.
  • Advanced MS Excel required and Advanced PowerPoint skills preferred _ability to complete Pivot Tables, VLook Ups, and Logical Formulas is required. _
  • Excellent relationship building skills with experience working with different levels of management and operations.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills required.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager, SQL and Business Intelligence tools is considered an asset.
