Starting Salary:
$58,500-$66,680, per year based on experience. Salary Range Max $76,060 [2023 Rates]

The Role


The Team Lead is a technical resource who plays a leadership role in gathering and sharing knowledge, guiding and organizing the work of others, scheduling work, identifying problems and challenges with delivery or quality, and resolving or elevating as required.

The Team Leader provides coaching to their team to ensure performance and quality objectives are met, motivates from a peer-to-peer perspective, and deals with day to day employee needs.


Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with leading Healing and Wellness Branch coordinators to gather and share pertinent knowledge regarding a variety of chronic illness matters;
  • Oversee the daily workflow, scheduling and assignments of the assigned projects;
  • Ensure that the necessary equipment is available and in working order to complete assignments;
  • Keep team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives;
  • Maintain detailed and accurate work records;
  • Support the resolution of conflicts that arise among team members and/or other employees;
  • Support the development of performance feedback and evaluations that are timely and constructive;
  • Collaborate with the team to identify ways to improve program or Branch effectiveness and seeks approval to implements viable ideas;
  • Lead team involvement in a variety of internal and external educational partnerships;
  • Lead team to create and implement a plan for creating new chronic illness collaborations across the Province;
  • Support the development, distribution and orientation to a variety of chronic illness tools and resources for existing program coordinators;
  • Other reasonable duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Mandatory qualifications:


  • Strong desire to act in the service of the Métis Citizens, to advance and uphold rights and culture
  • A postsecondary degree in Social Services field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous 2 years or more experience in a similar/comparable role
  • Previous experience dealing with confidential information
  • Demonstrated ability to leading a peer group to complete a task, deliverable or project
  • A high degree of technology literacy and proficiency in standard office equipment
  • Advanced communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Superior organization skills and time/prioritymanagement managing self and others including the design and implementation of project work plans
  • Elevated levels of problemsolving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others as a peer leader on a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Métisspecific and broader indigenous key challenges, and programs
  • Understanding of key health promotion concepts including knowledge of major factors which contribute to chronic illness experiences for Métis people
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate / leverage the skills of a team to complete assigned tasks and deliverables
Bilingualism would be considered an asset
