Nova Wood Products is an industry-leading architectural woodwork company with expertise in supplying the construction industry in Atlantic Canada & New England.

We provide our clients with custom fabricated wood products that meet or exceed architectural specifications working closely with the design authority.

We are offering a unique experience as an
Estimator in the construction industry. You will provide excellent Estimating and

Cost Allocation within our team and be a part of an existing group of highly skilled professionals where commitment to excellence is a core value.

This position reports to our Sales Manager.


This opportunity is located in
Lunenburg, NS, a beautiful UNESCO heritage town whose 250 years of history allows an exceptional work/life balance.


Type:
Full-time, Permanent


Responsibilities:


  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
  • Estimate the cost of materials, labour, and equipment for architectural millwork projects from contract bids, quotations, drawings, and specifications
  • Work with architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Use computer spreadsheets and databases as well as estimating, takeoff, and scheduling software
  • Work effectively and communicate well with team members
  • Work closely with Project Managers & Engineering Team
  • Provide solutions to reduce waste and improve efficiencies

Education & Experience

  • Educational training and/or experience in working with blueprints and/or construction drawings
  • Postsecondary education in a related field is an asset, but not required
  • Experience in any of the following areas is considered an asset: o Bluebeam o Microsoft Office o Woodworking o Cabinetmaking
