We are recruiting for a
PROJECT ASSISTANT - Food for Life (4 positions available)

_This is a contract part-time position (up to 20 hours per month between the hours of Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) from September 2023 to June 2024 based in Guelph with some travel to rural communities within Wellington county._
This position will be responsible for implementing in-class nutrition presentations for students from kindergarten to grade 4. The nutrition program is named "Food for Life". Training and on-going support will be provided.
This is a nutrition program that uniquely combines nutrition education with sensitivity to mental health, and more specifically, aims to reduce eating disorder risk factors.
Qualifications:
- Postsecondary student, minimum 2 years undergraduate completed
- Experience working with young children
- Ability to work with a high degree of independence
- Interest in education of children
- Interest in the field of nutrition
- Good organizational, interpersonal and problemsolving skills
- Flexibility and responsiveness to shifting demands within schools and classrooms
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
- Valid Food Handler's Certification
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle as some travel is required
**CLASSIFICATION AND RATE OF PAY: $17 per hour (Non-Union)
