    DUTIES

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Thompson Rivers University is seeking a sessional faculty member who will teach one section of EDUC5000: Learning about Learning.

    CALENDAR DESCRIPTION

    This course aims to support students who are examining their own perspectives on learning as well as exploring contemporary theories of learning developed by academics in the education field. Students are empowered to become more effective, advanced, academic learners in the field of education.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    PhD or EdD is required, ABD will be considered.

    · A minimum of one (1) degree in education is required.

    · Expertise in K-12 education is required.

    · Three (3) years of full time or equivalent hours teaching in K-12 settings is required.

    · Evidence of successful teaching experience at the post-secondary level is strongly preferred.

    · Demonstration of subject matter expertise is required.

    · Excellent organizational, interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills required.

    · Demonstrated experience in integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods (TRC CA 62) required.

    · Proven skills in building student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect (TRC CA 63) required.

    · Teaching excellence, including developing culturally appropriate curricula (TRC CA 10) required.
