About your next Challenge
as a
Tool Crib Attendant:

The
Tool Crib Attendant is responsible to provide In-Service Support (ISS) of the CH-147 (Chinook) Medium Heavy Lift Helicopter (MHLH) Program by providing tool control and maintaining Aircraft Support and Test Equipment in a serviceable state ready for use by DND technicians.

This position involves hands-on labor and managing inventory levels in complexed computer based systems.


What You Will Do:


  • Record the issue and return transactions for tools or Support & Test Equipment (STE) to DND Technicians using CribMaster software;
  • Inspect and maintain tool kits, tool boards and servicing boards as required;
  • Perform mechanical visual inspection on STE;
  • Report tools and equipment discrepancies, lost tools and broken tools to the Tool Control Coordinator;
  • Operate a laser engraver to etch markings on tooling using Corel Draw and Job Control software;
  • Clean and organize tool crib as directed, including sweeping, dusting, housekeeping;
  • Follow all site safety and security procedures;
  • Ensure compliance with established internal procedures;
  • Provide professional customer service to internal and external customers;
  • Address other concerns that may be raised by DND maintenance technicians;
  • Provide CribMaster and tool control training to DND technicians;
  • Contribute to the Continuous Improvement Program;
  • Support group projects as assigned by Supervisor; and
  • Carry out weekend duty technician responsibilities when assigned (every 68 weeks);

Required Skills and Experiences:


  • Two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience (Tool Control environment, Tool Crib operations, Store Person, Warehousing, Mechanics Shop);
  • Able to do visual inspection of mechanics tooling and calibrated equipment;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite and other software;
  • Good verbal & writing skills;
  • Teamwork, Initiative, Customer and Result oriented;
  • Ability to sustain focus on multiple tasks;
  • Ability to work independently, with mínimal supervision;
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week on short notice at times;
  • Valid Driver's License required.

Eligibility Criteria:


  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada
    "Reliability" status and
    Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
  • For onsite positions, our location not accessible by public transport, car/carpooling required.
