Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager of the Withdrawal Management Service (WMS), the incumbent will be responsible for the delivery of high quality WM care to clients based on the community and day withdrawal models of care


This includes:

screening of clients, coordinating necessary support services, and running group programming including performing auricular acupuncture on individuals and in group settings.

In addition the incumbent will facilitate group programming for people with concurrent disorders.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs initial screening of clients to the group program
  • Facilitates Auricular Acupuncture for Residential & Day Clients
  • Facilitates addictions groups including: Seeking Safety, CBT, DBT, CRA, Smart Recovery, Mindfulness, Relapse prevention.
  • Maintains records of clients
  • Supervises the Day and Community clients to ensure they are not in residential area of building.
  • Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:


  • Twoyear college diploma in Human Services majoring in addictions and/or mental health or equivalent combination of training and education such as a bachelor's degree in behavioural science with addiction work experience.
  • Certification as an Acu-Detoxification Specialist
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in the addictions field and must be familiar with the addictions continuum and other sector partners which may be a support to the client population.
  • Knowledge of Withdrawal Management Services and related functions.
  • Experience running group programming required
  • Knowledge or certification in addictions therapies required including: Seeking Safety, CBT, DBT, CRA, Smart Recovery, Mindfulness, Relapse Prevention, Auricular acupuncture
  • Sound clinical knowledge of withdrawal symptoms and appropriate interventions.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team framework
  • Knowledge of Community Withdrawal Management Service models of care
  • Must be comfortable working with clients in diverse external locations and have skills to engage family members of clients
  • Ability to work flexible hours is a requirement of the position.
  • Good attendance record
  • Willingness to attend required training
