Dates:
July 2-12 and July 15-26, 2024

Casual - Hours may vary, anticipated as 5-6 hours/day.

Salary starts at $17.40/hr. plus 16% in lieu of benefits.

4+ positions available

Verification of a summer learning position may not be possible until June 28, 2024

Applicants must also be available for 1.5-hour orientation, date, and time to be confirmed

Summary of Duties:


Reporting to the Summer Learning Vice Principal/Principal, the Student Worker is responsible for providing services in any area of the department.

The student worker works as a member of a team to ensure the timely resolution of general district requirements, in accordance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures.

The position will entail a variety of basic duties to ensure the summer learning program runs smoothly and efficiently.


Required Qualifications and Experience:


  • Grade 12 graduation
  • Attending post-secondary in 2023
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions (in English)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:


  • First Aid Certificate
  • Previous experience working with children.

Site Specific Considerations:


Duties include:


  • Assisting with delivery of programs
  • Assisting instructors on site as needed
  • Assist with basic registration duties.
  • Collecting and distributing documents for teachers
  • Photocopying, filing and other clerical duties.
  • Assisting in ensuring student' safety
  • Supervising of students before, during and after classes


Successful applicants not currently employed by West Vancouver Schools are required to sign a "consent for Criminal Record Search" to permit a criminal record review.
