The Position:
Arch Insurance Canada Ltd.

is looking for a highly motivated Underwriting Assistant to contribute to the growth and profitability of the Middle Market P&C and Casualty teams by providing account and administration support to underwriters.

In addition, your strong work ethics will provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external parties and ensure you consistently meet service levels.

Job Responsibilities:
Remote - Toronto

This position is directly accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for policy issuance for all Middle Market P&C and Casualty line products for new and renewal business.
  • Responsible for post binding account activities; including endorsement processing, broker of record changes, policy extensions, and cancellations.
  • Process premium and commission coding, reconciliation, and coding premium and commission discrepancies.
  • Setup and maintenance of division underwriting files within established audit standards.
  • Responding and answering internal, external and broker service requests professionally and promptly including following up on outstanding information needed from brokers on behalf of underwriting.
  • Data processing with internal systems and Excel spreadsheets, ranging from simple data entry work to creating new spreadsheets, manipulating and/or modifying existing spreadsheets, be able to do numerical operations within Excel spreadsheets to assist statistical support work.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 25 years of experience in the Insurance industry is required with a knowledge of forms and products
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and welldeveloped interpersonal skills
  • Possess keen attention to detail and an ability to effectively prioritize duties and multitask large workloads
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to assist others
  • Possess the ability to work independently and within a team environment
