Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented
HR Coordinator to join our dynamic team.

The HR Coordinator will play a pivotal role in providing administrative support and coordination across various HR functions to ensure the smooth operation of our People Systems at Torex Gold.


The Company
Torex Gold Resources Inc.

is an intermediate gold producer engaged in the exploration, development, and operation of our wholly owned Morelos Property, an area of 29,000 hectares in the highly prospective Guerrero Gold Belt located 180 kilometers southwest of Mexico City.

The Company is based in Canada, with our Corporate Office located in Toronto, Ontario. As of 2023, Torex became the largest gold producer in Mexico.


The Company's mining asset is the Morelos Complex, which includes the El Limón Guajes ("ELG") Mining Complex, the Media Luna Project, a processing plant, and related infrastructure.

Commercial production from the ELG Mining Complex began in April 2016, and the Company's Media Luna project, located seven kilometers south of the ELG Complex, is currently under construction with commercial production expected to begin in 2025.


Torex's key strategic objectives are to deliver Media Luna to full production, integrate and optimize the Morelos Complex, retain and attract best industry talent, build on ESG excellence, and grow organically through ongoing exploration across the entire Morelos Property and through potential value accretive M&A.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
  • 35 years of experience in human resources.
  • Experience with HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Achievement of or working towards Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation preferred.
  • Experience in the mining industry would be an asset.

Key Deliverables

General Duties:


  • Performs administrative functions including generating reports, maintaining employee files, processing changes to employee records in the HRIS, and maintaining HR data, forms, and documents.
  • Coordinates HR department calendar and departmental task assignments to ensure initiatives are given the proper time and attention.
  • Processes invoices.
  • Supports the coordination of employee activities such as planning company events and initiatives.
  • Supports the Human Resources team with general administration.
  • Covers HR team members while on vacation/absent.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Employee Relations:


  • Responds to/or direct inquiries regarding human resources policies, compensation, and benefit programs.
  • Performs a quarterly audit of new hires to ensure all entitlements and requirements have been met.
  • Administers Leaves of Absence and Employee Return to Work plans, including liaising with insurance and medical professionals as required to ensure necessary paperwork is completed on time.
  • Coordinates updating policies and procedures on internal Company web pages/share points.

Learning and Development

  • Supports management of user data in LMS (Learning Management System).
  • Administers courses in the LMS.
  • Assigns and monitors course completion through reporting and analytics.
  • Troubleshoots as the first response to LMS problems.
  • Prepares materials for inperson courses/sessions at the corporate office.

Organizational Development

  • Ensures the Role Description library is up to date, including posting, translations, and permissions.
  • Maintains master calendar for annual succession & development cycle.
  • Supports annual succession & development cycle.
  • Creates reports to support development and succession activities.

Performance Management

  • Maintains master calendar for annual performance cycle.
  • Supports the preparation of material for the annual cycle.
  • Serves as the focal point for coordination of performance cycle across business units.

Recruitment, Selection, and Induction

  • Supports work surges in recruitment by conducting reference calls, closing background checks, preparing documentation, etc.
  • Supports the preparation of new hire information packages.
  • Coordinates new hire setup coordinating IT requirements, security passes, etc.

Reporting

  • Creates and distributes monthly reporting requirements such as headcount reports, organizational charts, training documentation, HR metrics, and other reports as needed.
  • Performs analysis on recurring metrics to identify trends for further review.
  • Supports the continuous improvement of HR report
