Description

Purpose:

  • The purpose of this position is to manage sales and inventory productivity by analyzing the business to identify risks and opportunities that drive sell through. The Assistant Manager, Planning will lead the build of category financial budgets and opentobuy (OTB) with Buyer collaboration.
  • Key Responsibilities (Functional):
  • Build seasonal category OTB and manage the implementation of the OTB process to meet sales, margin, and inventory turn targets. Manage category-level inventory receipt plans and the monthly receipt flow
  • Conduct post season analysis to provide growth opportunities, risks and guidance for the next season
  • Provide business intel to our key stakeholders to improve overall gotomarket strategies & milestones
  • Provide optimal option counts, range size & needs by cluster and volumes by store to our Buying team using historical data & insights
  • Evaluate, measure, and communicate preseason sales, margin and receipt guidance by store to drive towards the overall financial goal
  • Manage inseason inventory to ensure the right quantities are at the right stores to optimize productivity
  • Recap and analyze actual sales results to target and forecast inseason sales and inventories on a weekly/monthly/seasonal basis
  • Build, analyze and distribute weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales and inventory reports to internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Buyers and Allocators on preseason plans, inseason performance and postseason hindsights
  • Key Responsibilities (KPIs):
  • Sales and Margin pre-season budgets / in-season forecast accuracy
  • Receipt Plan and Inventory Management (stock turn, ST%, WOS, inventory days lasting)
  • Category reporting and analysis to identify localized/regional assortment opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned by Retail Planning Manager
  • Key Relationships:
  • Build and foster relationships with key teams: Merchandising Buying & Allocations, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Finance and eCommerce
  • Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Superior analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills (ability to manage a wide variety of relationships; see key relationships)
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data and summarize key risks and opportunities
  • A firm understanding of retail math, retail sales and inventory metrics
  • MS Excel Expert-Advanced level
  • Requisite Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with inventory management, data analysis, reporting, buying and retail planning
