The KO Advanced First Responder Lead has the responsibility of assisting the community members of Deer Lake First Nation by responding promptly and safely to accidents and emergencies.+
Qualifications
- AEMCA certification
- Must have a valid Driver's license.
- Minimum one year experience working as a paramedic
- Satisfactory Criminal Reference check within 90 days
Duties & Responsibilities
Assists and supports Deer Lake paramedicine as required.
Work alongside NAPS, where appropriate
Respond immediately to accidents and emergencies.
Responds rapidly to radio transmissions / phone calls
Stabilizing sick or injured patients by providing first aid treatment and life support
,Transport patients to nursing station Transport patients from nursing station airport if required.Transport patients regular appointments nothing else urgent.Attends residences scheduled visits chronic disease management blood pressure checks Attends residences wellness checksJointly works alongside other teams Public Health Home Care Jordan's PrincipleAvailable on-call scheduleTravel will rotational basis schedule flexible applicantWrite submit concrete accurate reports incidentsAdhere established medical protocols procedures legal guidelines health safety standardso Adhere additional protocols presented communityMust understanding Indigenous culture worldview proceed empathetic approachAttend relevant trainings when available.Participate regular team meetings any other community worker meetings meetings Chief Council service providers/emergency organizations requiredComplete appropriate forms documents human resource managementStays crisis/Indigenous Studies literature.Assist development program expertise community ParamedicOther duties required
