The Role:


The Stewardship Officer is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive and best practice stewardship programs that support all GCAF donor and sponsor relationships while sustaining and increasing revenue-generating potential.

Overall you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining all activities related to stewardship to include but not limited to:

  • Planning and executing customized stewardship initiatives for donors and sponsors in alignment with the Foundation's annual operating plans
  • Maintaining and/or developing standards of service and fostering a positive donor experience
  • Supporting team members to ensure all donors receive timely and appropriate follow up for their giving (frequent touchpoints, recognition plans, and benefits)
  • Ensuring the completion of deliverables as outlined in donor agreements
  • Supporting event planning, coordination and logistics either as event lead or as part of an event committee.
  • Managing the stewardship reporting process, collaborating on content development, editing and report production, verifying the accuracy and completeness of information
  • Ensuring the integrity of all fundraising data, working with team members to oversee data input; supporting reconciliation activities with the Finance Department
  • Developing and preparing donor recognition materials including physical naming opportunities

You will also be responsible for:

  • Assisting with prospect research and supporting team members with their prospect pipeline processes
  • Remaining current of best practices in the field with respect to Stewardship

What you bring to the role:

  • Post secondary diploma at a recognized College or University in a related field of study
  • A minimum of 4 years direct experience in a fundraising environment preferably in a stewardship role
  • Indepth knowledge of principles and techniques related to donor stewardship and retention, for individual, foundation and corporate donors
  • Understanding of Canada Revenue Agency tax receipting rules and guidelines
  • Experience entering and maintaining large sets of data in a complex database system required
  • Creativity and ability to take initiative with regards to systems and processes that support GCAF operations
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and writing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a process and datadriven team environment
  • Ability to take initiative to manage multiple projects, resources and initiatives working with multiple departments
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint)
  • Proven experience with Raiser's Edge, SalesForce or other donor/CRM database
  • Can provide proof of full COVID19 vaccination
  • Willing to submit to an Enhanced Police Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Willingness and ability to travel, as required (valid driver's license required)
