Langley manufacturing team. This position will report to the
General Foreman.

What you will do:

This position is primarily responsible for supervising and directing the activities within the Shipping, Stores and Receiving area to ensure it operates effectively and efficiently.

This individual is responsible for exemplary customer service, staff supervision, workplace safety, shipping and receiving, communication, continuous improvement, and costs control.


Staff Supervision:


  • Coordinates, assigns and reviews the work of the shipper, receiver, yardman and drivers
  • Trains or facilitates training to staff, and clearly defines their responsibilities and establishes performance goals
  • Guides and motivates the Team and retains productive staff
  • Provides input into staff hiring, performance appraisals and promotions when necessary
  • Disciplines employees in their area of responsibility for noncompliance of Company policies, guidelines and practices

Shipping, Receiving, and Stores:


  • Supervises and directs the activities of the Shipping, Stores and Receiving area
  • Manages the storage, distribution and maintenance of materials, parts and products;
  • Establishes work schedules and procedures and coordinate activities with other work units or departments
  • Ensures parts and supplies are received and shipped to meet production and service demands continuously by maintaining maximum and minimum levels
  • Reconciles inventory shipped and received
  • Resolves work problems Preparing and submitting progress reports on shipments
  • Ensures workorders, parts, shipping and receiving is completed daily as per the schedule as set out upon by production.

Workplace Safety:


  • Will perform daily preshift inspections on any and all equipment that will be used during the shift and record results in inspection log books
  • Will regularly check all work tools and equipment and shall take out of service any tool or equipment that poses a hazard due to a need for repairs.
  • Creates a safe and secure work environment that is conducive to productivity of the workers
  • Practices, adheres and trains staff in Shipping and Receiving about safety in the work place and ensures that the well being of oneself and the others are not endangered in the plant
  • Complies to and ensure Shipping and Receiving staff comply to all safety regulations, policies and procedures

Your Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 8 years of directly related experience
  • Supervisory training/experience
  • Current Forklift license an asset
