Description

The Liquor Warehouse Utility Clerk is responsible to ensure that the liquor warehouse product is received, slotted, picked and shipped to the appropriate liquor stores in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to Company policies, procedures and standards.


Responsibilities:


  • Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations through the appropriate handling of questions, comments and complaints. Effectively works in a diverse team environment in a proficient and friendly manner.
  • Plans and performs all aspects of Warehouse Utility functions including stock rotation, gathering and picking orders according to the order schedule in an efficient and organized manner. Ensures proper stock levels are maintained.
  • Handles merchandise ensuring quality, minimizing damages, markdowns and ensures price integrity.
  • Performs general cleanup duties such as cleaning spills and washrooms to ensure a neat and organized location. Responsible for keeping the warehouse floor and back stock area clean of cardboard and debris including the disposal of garbage.
  • Performs duties following established Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental regulations and policies to ensure the health and safety of all Employees and customers. Promotes the prevention of robbery and violence in the workplace.
  • Ensures the proper care, use and maintenance of equipment and tools. Reports repair requirements to the Liquor Warehouse Supervisor or Liquor Warehouse Manager.
  • Assists with ordering supplies and merchandise as directed by the Liquor Warehouse Supervisor or the Liquor Warehouse Manager.
  • Performs regularly scheduled inventory audits, including entering data into the Access system, in conjunction with the Liquor Warehouse Supervisor or the Liquor Warehouse Manager and works with accounting as required on the accuracy of the perpetual inventory.
  • Responsible for receiving including reviewing / verifying invoices, returns, transfers, claims, Bill of Lading, and proper storage of products.
  • Adheres to all rules and regulations as set out by the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.
  • Opens and closes the liquor warehouse as required.
  • Assumes additional related responsibilities as required including training others to do the Liquor Warehouse Utility Clerk job.

Environmental Conditions:


  • Requirement to stand or walk for long periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting and heavy lifting.
  • Carrying, pushing and pulling of heavy loads.
  • Requires above and below shoulder reaching.
  • Use of sharp instruments required.
  • Frequent time demands and deadlines.
  • Dealing with continuous demands of customers.
  • Finger dexterity is required for tasks such as using an adding machine, keyboard, and scanner.
  • May be exposed to criminal activity in the form of attempted theft or robbery. Extensive use of powered mobile equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Grade 10 or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of ordering and receiving
  • Basic computer knowledge

Desirable Qualifications:


  • Experience in planning and organizing events, projects and programs
  • Previous warehouse experience (including shipping) would be an asset Liquor or equivalent retail experience, with strong product knowledge and knowledge of provincial liquor regulations.
