A Day In The Life

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Administrative Support:Prepare documentation and employment paperwork (e.g., employment confirmation letters, and status change paperwork), communicate these changes to all relevant stakeholders, process expense claims and ensure all documents are current.

Onboarding and New Hire Orientation:Facilitate onboarding and orientation programs, including preparing new hire orientation packages and scheduling meetings, assist in processing paperwork, and conducting the new hire HR orientation.

Policies:Update and maintain all policies on the Firm intranet.

Employee Files:Manage employee records online and in our internal HRIS system. Ensure all confidential employee files are maintained according to our standards and processes and are compliant with applicable laws, policies and audit requirements.

Meeting Coordination:Coordinate meeting logistics, draft and distribute meeting notes, and follow up on action items.

HR Related Communications:Draft, amend and issue all HR related, internal communications relating to HR initiatives on behalf of the department. Conduct reference checks and assist with recruitment as needed.

Social Events:Lead all HR sponsored social events and take an active role in the organization of such events.

Health and Wellness: Represent HR on the Occupational Health & Safety committee and Emergency Response Team. Lead Wellness initiatives for the BC region and assist with scheduling ergonomic assessments as needed.

EA to Senior Director, HR: Calendar management, prepare memos, letters, copying, scanning, prepare documents and presentation materials, arrange internal and external meetings as necessary, organize expense claims and travel arrangements.

Payroll:Provide daily support and vacation coverage to the HR Specialist

Miscellaneous:Assist with the day to day operations of the HR function and all other tasks, responsibilities and projects, as assigned.

  • You have strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple demands and conflicting priorities.
  • You are a selfstarter with the ability to work in a collaborative, team based environment.
  • You have extreme accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong technical skills with a proficiency in Microsoft office.
  • Previous administrative experience is essential.
