Job Summary
- Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), the Research Technician will facilitate the laboratory's research and
provide technical support in performing research.
Key Responsibilities
- Research chronic disease models in murine systems under the PI's direction (e.g., conduct biomedical laboratory tests, immunological and molecular biology related experiments, and analyses).
- Breed, maintain and monitor mice, and harvest tissue samples.
- Order reagents, chemicals, and instruments as well as maintain lab equipment and supplies.
- Provide support to research personnel as needed and training to others in operation of equipment and laboratory protocols.
- Assist in the preparation of material for publication and presentation as required.
Note
- Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work inperson on campus.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences, Immunology, or related field with a minimum of two years of experience in biology research, including _in vivo_ studies/experiments.
- Experience performing immunological and molecular biology works, handling animals, administering injections, and collecting tissue.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Demonstrated ability to follow established guidelines and protocols and to complete work assignments in an effective and efficient manner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and problemsolving skills.
Assets
- Master's degree in Biological Sciences
, Immunology
, or related field. - Experience in clinical research.
