Brandt is currently seeking a Transportation Analyst for our Regina, SK location.


This position is the analytical role providing data to the Customs & Traffic team related to the utilization of carriers.

The Transportation Analyst has a proven ability to analyze shipping data, identify options based upon their knowledge of the transportation carrier base, and provide guidance and alternatives to the Traffic Department for savings and efficiencies.

The role will assist coworkers and leadership to negotiate best value from the carriers, and to create plans to effectively utilize carriers across all Brandt business units.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for ongoing analysis and establish reliable means of measuring supplier performance. These should be measured as On Time Delivery, Cost, and Damage Claims, to help rationalize the mix of carriers in the Approved Carrier List and the performance of those carriers.
  • Assist Department leadership to source and negotiate agreements to procure carrier services as required to meet Brandt's shipping needs.
  • Evaluate and follow procedures that will help with providing feedback regarding carrier compliance and performance.
  • Represent the Traffic Department in multidiscipline projects within Brandt.
  • Develop an understanding of Traffic Department procedures, systems and tools, and those of related departments, and assist Department Leadership in ongoing efforts to improve the effectiveness of tools available to the Customs & Traffic Department.
  • Follow standard Customs & Traffic Department operating procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving carrier relationships.
  • Assist in booking freight, if needed.
  • Assist in traffic quoting projects and programs to achieve business goals and continuous improvements of processes.
  • Continually develop market knowledge and understanding of Brandt processes, and use this to assist department leadership to train coordinators.
  • Conduct projects related to traffic service as directed by the Director of Traffic.

Required Skills:


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in ERP systems, TMS and MS Office software with strong focus on Excel.
  • Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Experience

  • 3 to 5 years' experience analyzing data in a logistics or supply chain position.
  • Business Administration or Engineering degree required.
