    Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Laundry and Linen Services branch within the Health Services Division as a Laundry Services Worker in Dieppe.

    Reporting to the Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities, but not limited to:

    • Retrieves carts of soiled laundry;
    • Empties and washes carts;
    • Sorts soiled laundry; removes and disposes of bio-hazardous materials; fills bags for tunnel washing;
    • Weighs and records soiled laundry bags;
    • Hoists laundry bags onto tunnel washer or loads washing machines;
    • Operates washing machines; monitors chemical levels of washing machines;
    • Monitors and fixes basic operational faults of tunnel washer and super track, as required;
    • Unloads washing machines and/or tunnel washer;
    • Loads clean, damp laundry into appropriate drying machines, or hangs to dry;
    • Unloads dryers; removes lint from lint baskets; removes hung clothes;
    • Sorts, folds and stores clean laundry;
    • Provides minor maintenance, adjustments and cleanings for laundry equipment;
    • Receives laundry requisitions;
    • Loads, scans, weighs, marks, records, and wraps clean laundry carts for delivery;
    • Distributes clean laundry carts; loads and unloads laundry trucks as required;
    • Shows others how to perform tasks or duties as part of the departmental orientation; as well as,
    • Maintains a clean and safe work area.

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Possess a high school diploma or have successfully completed a G.E.D.
    • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.

    An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

    OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • May be required to work evenings, weekends, variable shifts, holidays, etc.
    • Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.
    • Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.
