    Description

    Westlake Pipe & Fittings supplies gasketed, solvent weld and restrained joint pipes and a wide range of fittings for a diverse list of markets including municipal water and sewer, plumbing, water well, pool and spa, and agricultural and turf irrigation.

    Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Process Engineer will be responsible to develop and write all SOPs, maintain and track all quality and process concerns on Fast Response Board, work with Quality Manager to standardize quality inspections, work with Maintenance Manager to reduce power and water usage, investigate continuous improvement opportunities across all processes, work with Managers in all departments to bring about process improvements resulting in cost savings.

    Lead product development teams through the stage gate process to ensure success.
    Plan and perform manufacturing trials to evaluate new product design, materials and formulations.
    Coordinate product sampling, testing and certification requirements.
    Coordinate these programs with Engineering and Manufacturing.
    Develop & maintain process guidelines (SOP/SOC) and training programs for the integration of new products and systems.

    Identify opportunities and provide technical support to manufacturing for the improvement of product quality, process efficiencies and manufacturing costs.


    Education:
    Post Secondary degree (Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering).

    Experience:
    years of manufacturing work experience.
    Strong Product Development & Process Engineering skills and expertise.
    Six sigma green/black belt and knowledge of DOE an asset.
