    Job Overview:

    The recruited assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Events Technician with AV set up needs for the internal and external events at Heritage Park venues.

    AV stands for audio-visual equipment and includes any electronic device used to create audio and visual experiences. Audio and visual equipment covers many things, including microphones, speakers and other audio equipment, video cameras, and display devices. Audio-visual materials consist of four components: verbal-acoustic, verbal-visual, nonverbal-visual, and nonverbal-acoustic.

    Assist in setting up and dismantling audio-visual (AV) equipment for events, meetings, and presentations.
    Provide technical support during events, troubleshooting AV equipment issues as needed.
    Assist in testing, maintaining, and repairing AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.

    Support in the inventory management of AV equipment and supplies, including tracking usage and identifying the need for replenishing stock.

    Assist, on occasion, the Banquets team in making the event run smoothly by helping with food and beverage service
    Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety by complying with Heritage Park's Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS), following safe work practices, reporting work-related incidents, injuries and hazards, participating in employer training, and adhering policies including the Code of Conduct and the Workplace Violence and Harassment Policy
    Actively support a positive work environment by creating an atmosphere of inclusion, engagement and fulfillment in line with Heritage Park values
    Demonstrate responsible stewardship of our people, collections and financial assets by ensuring that they are handled with integrity, sustainability, and a focus on long-term benefits for the organization and its stakeholders
    Post-secondary education in a technical field will be an asset.
    Experience in a multi-event setting will be an asset.
    A valid Alberta vehicle operators' license is considered an asset
    Proficient knowledge of audio-visual equipment, including sound systems, projectors, and displays.
    Knowledge of computer software. Particularly Microsoft Power point, Teams & Word, SonoBus, Audacity or other audio related programs, Zoom.
    Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in a client-faced setting
    Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support event schedules.
    Technical certifications or training in audio-visual technology and/or strong abstract and mechanical reasoning is a plus.
