_The Office of the Controller_ is responsible for government accounting policies and financial reporting, financial management and control policies, risk management (i.e. financial and audit risk) and financial business process management.

Role:

Reporting to the Director, Financial Policy, you will be responsible for corporate financial management and financial control policies. This position aims to promote accountability through the development and implementation of financial policies to be applied government wide.

  • Provide advice on and interpretation of financial policies to senior and executive level management across government, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Work with various internal and external stakeholders to support the development of financial policies.
  • Consult with legal counsel on the interpretation of legal frameworks pertaining to financial management.
  • Coordinate and liaise with the Office of the Auditor General on their audit reports.
  • Maintain and report on Auditor General recommendations and provide secretarial support to the Provincial Audit Committee.

Qualifications:


This position requires a post-secondary degree in accounting, business, finance, public administration or related discipline, plus a minimum of three years related experience.

An accounting designation, Masters of Business Administration or Masters of Public Administration is desirable.

Salary:

$3,100.80 to $4,172.77 bi-weekly ($80,930 - $108,909 annually)
