Position summary:

Reporting to the Dir.

Commercial Strategy, the Channel Execution Manager will lead the creation and execution of a Channel Standards, Perfect Store execution, and Forecasting on their assigned brands.

They provide strategic channel market and consumer management expertise to brand and customer teams as a key advisor/ collaborator between Sales, Marketing, Retail, and the rest of the organization.

They understand, create targets, and monitor key drivers of channels, category, brand, and customer sales for their assigned brands, building plans/ recommendations to achieve business objectives.

The position offers a unique experience not found within any other Sales function because of the opportunity to develop strong sustainable relationships throughout different departments within the organization.


Organization:
Key customers include Brand, Sales, Demand Planning, Customer Insights & Analytics, and Sales Operations


Responsibilities:


  • Own delivery of assigned objectives by developing and executing customer and/or channel strategies and plans with ability to understand trade, mix, and levers to drive net sales and gross margin
  • Collaborate with customer and brand teams to build a strong go to market plan for assigned brands
  • Develop strong relationships throughout the organization and provides customer and brand business development opportunities, thought leadership, and solutions
  • Support Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development and leads execution (base + innovation) through sales team
  • Create channel, customer targets, and scorecards and interprets information and data to develop insights, identify risks and create opportunities/strategies/action plans associated with execution fundamentals (

Perfect Store:
Price/Flyer, Display, Shelving, Innovation)

  • Attend BDM Demand Planning, and Consensus and provide a sales POV on assigned brands
  • Advocate and represent the customer point of view across multiple teams and key cross functional projects
  • Create and deliver persuasive communications, driven by data & insights for assigned brands in partnership with CIA/brand
  • Provide continuous improvement leadership through bringing forward best practices and ideas to simplify work
  • Provide analytical support on assigned projects and/or day to day tasks

Potential Career Progression:


  • Progressive and lateral moves into Sales, Marketing, & RGM

Qualifications, Education & Experience:


  • A University Degree in business/economics, an MBA is an asset
  • Ideally, 35 years of progressive sales customer and/or marketing experience in the CPG industry
  • Strong knowledge/previous experience in snacking packaged goods within the Canadian marketplace
  • Strong analytical skills and proven track record of delivering sustainable results, experience in Nielsen, and advanced excel an asset
  • Strong communication skills
- the incumbent will be expected to work broadly within the organization, and will require strong written & verbal communication skills, along with a persuasive, tactful presenting style that aligns and facilitates discussion
