Seniors Ministry and Community Pastor (full time 30hrs/wk - permanent)
This position is responsible to minister to the congregation by providing leadership that cultivates a disciple-making culture, with a focus on Beulah Community life.
Role responsibilities:
Beulah Communities
- With Community & Care team, champion the vision and strategy of disciplemaking, through Community life.
- Learn, adapt, and maintain best practices of disciplemaking in community.
- Recruit, train, and coach leaders. Catalyze the creation of new Communities and facilitate multiplication.
- Collaborate in developing training and coaching content, systems and initiatives.
- Monitor disciplemaking fruitfulness through team analysis and reporting.
- Oversee disciplemaking and care ministry among senior adults, considering generational shifts.
- Oversee, recruit and coach volunteer teams to give oneonone visits to seniors in need.
- Care for seniors who are unable to be part of inperson church gatherings.
- Oversee and coach volunteer teams to develop and implement programs for seniors that encourage spiritual, emotional and mental health.
- Evaluate disciplemaking fruitfulness of programming in seniors ministry.
- Pastoral support families grieving the loss of a loved one, and guidance in preparation for a funeral.
- Lead funeral services coordinating oncall pastors to lead funeral services.
- Oversee baptism strategy, monitor and improve as needed.
- Provide clear next steps for newly baptized disciples.
- Serve as a visible and accessible leadership presence at weekend services and other community gatherings.
- Provide scheduled POD (Pastor on Duty) support as required.
- Develop and maintain assigned ministry plans and budgets.
What will make you thrive:
- 5 or more years' experience in ministry.
- Diploma from a credible Biblical Institution with emphasis in Theology, Biblical Studies, Missiology, or Christian Ministry, and a heart for ministry.
- Able to be fully licensed with the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination in Canada.
- Aligned with Beulah's vision to awaken greater Edmonton to King Jesus.
- Working knowledge of disciplemaking in Canadian culture for individual, group, and churchwide strategies.
- Primary spiritual gifts: leadership, shepherding.
- Excels in inspiring leaders, bringing enthusiasm for a shared vision.
- Strong communicator who is comfortable as a public speaker and facilitator of adult learning in various settings.
- Entrepreneurial, with demonstrated ability to develop and implement projects.
- Demonstrated adaptability (e.g. changing strategies and methods).
