With more than 5,000 donations bins and an active home pick-up service in communities across Canada (excluding Quebec), we collect unwanted gently used clothing and household items, using them to raise much-needed funds for Diabetes Canada.


Each year, the program diverts more than 100 million pounds of clothing and household items from landfill sites across Canada.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial planning, analysis and commentary support on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis for National Diabetes Trust (NDT).

This role is supporting and maintaining the financial planning procedures and systems within the Finance.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in development of key financial metrics and developing tracking systems
  • Participate in the development and maintain financial planning models
  • Prepare adhoc financial analysis and reports as needed or requested
  • Collaborate with the Senior Financial Analyst in month/quarter/yearend finance and accounting processes
  • Provide financial information for better decisionmaking and achievement of the organizational goals and objectives
  • Provide financial analysis and support in the planning process as directed by the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Additional duties as required ensuring the effective operation of the NDT financial function.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or an equivalent field
  • 2+ years of Financial Analyst experience
  • 1st or 2nd year of recognized Professional Accounting Designation (e.g. CA/CGA/CMA)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Understanding of financial modelling and the ability to translate operational plans into fiscal plans
  • Strong computer skills using accounting and possibly financial planning software packages
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite knowledge, specifically with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP's, complex formulas and functions)
