Reporting to the Manager, Compensation, Engagement and HR Strategy to provide people solutions and programs that will support and enhance employee retention, engagement and organization performance.

This role must work effectively with all areas in the people portfolio, regularly collaborating with HR, and Organizational Development, in support of the Organization and HR Strategy.


Summary of Duties

  • Support the successful achievement of HR strategic goals to enhance organizational performance across all of Sunnybrook
  • Engage and collaborate with Leaders on various engagement, wellness and program development initiatives and improvements effectively aligning initiatives with HR strategic objectives
  • Monitor organization retention by staying informed of employee opinions, and recommend adjustments to employee engagement activities
  • Champion employee engagement surveys for the organization, ensuring meaningful feedback and metrics are in place to monitor initiatives
  • Work closely with the Manager, Compensation, Engagement and HR Strategy and other key stakeholders to explore and implement future enhancements to engagement and retention initiatives and programs
  • Track and prepare people related data and reports as required
  • Support the administration and maintenance of various engagement and retention initiatives including but not limited to; stay interviews, the performance management program, exit interviews and 120 day survey
  • Provide support to the career pathways program including working with leaders to create new career pathways, and working with teams to highlight stories of individual team Sunnybrook career pathway examples
  • Assist with coordinating HHR forums and other HHR meetings
  • Involved in HR corporate wide event planning, including but not limited to Annual Long Service Awards, Bertin Awards, Schulich Awards, Team Awards, Leadership Awards, Staff BBQ, Campus Holiday Celebrations

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required with preference given to Business Management or Human Resources majors
  • A postgraduate certificate Human Resources Management
  • A minimum of 23 years of progressive experience in a Human Resources department
  • Preference given to unionized and healthcare experience
  • Experience with HRIS and data management, ability to turn data into a story
  • Strong ethical principles and an understanding of confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to analyze problems and provide solutions
  • Experience in leading HR programs and projects, including change management responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated independence and comfort in taking initiative on resolving issues within scope of responsibility
