The Health Care Aide in Neurosciences program participates in the delivery of quality patient care by performing services necessary for the physical and emotional wellbeing and comfort of the patient.

Nursing Attendant duties include assisting with bathing, feeding, transferring, lifting and portering patients.

Nursing Attendants may be asked to deliver specimens to labs, order supplies, clean and maintain unit equipment, monitor unit tidiness including equipment and storage rooms.

Physical requirements include long periods of standing, walking and lifting.

The Unit Manager supervises the position and the Charge Nurse and other team members provide general direction for specified duties.


Description:


As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support.

You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities.

You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
