Description

Operational Accounting

  • Oversee all monthend and yearend closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly financial statements.
  • Review and authorize all outgoing cheques, wire payments and oversees collections.
  • Review daily cash activity and monitors line of credit.
  • Approve new customer setup,
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves CAPEX requests. Arranges financing for CAPEX activities as necessary.
  • Work with the accounting team and IT to continually develop new processes, reports, and systems to drive internal efficiencies while reducing overhead.
  • Research new and emerging accounting trends, and developments, as appropriate, to ensure consistent compliance in our financial reporting and tax compliance practices.

Financial Planning, Reporting, and Analysis

  • Prepare monthly analyses, including (but not limited to) monthly fluctuation analysis (consolidated, product line level, site level), P&L, accounts receivable turnover, accounts receivable portfolio risk analysis, and inventory turnover in order to reduce company expenditures and better manage resources.
  • Ensure financial statements are in accordance with established accounting standards
  • Communicate with and maintain working relationships with various external financial institutions and auditors
  • Preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual bank covenant compliance calculations and certificates.
  • Review weekly and monthly reports for circulation to company management and shareholders.
  • Preparation of annual budget and business unit projections based on research, historical data, and discussions with management team
  • Oversee maintenance of cost master database and perform regular analyses of labor and overhead absorption to ensure appropriate costing of material produced

Administration and Payroll

  • Review of employee payroll and expense reports including the management team.
  • Retention and maintenance of all company legal documents and correspondence, including (but not limited to) employment agreements, nondisclosure agreements, leases, intellectual property filings etc.
