Spire Global is seeking an assembly technician for a new and exciting product line. The products are complex electromechanical devices which will be deployed in harsh environments in the field (outdoors). The role will require a range of skills, from analytical thinking to hands-on implementation and testing. Spire anticipates producing on the order of 1000 device/year.

Responsibilities:

Device assembly: Assemble electromechanical devices according to provided schematics, diagrams, and assembly instructions.
Contribute to developing assembly and testing processes, setting up facilities and drafting instructions.
Install and integrate components such as computers, RF receivers, antennas, power supplies, and ancillary circuitry with precision and attention to detail.
Conduct thorough quality checks at each stage of assembly to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
Diagnose and resolve assembly issues promptly to maintain production schedules and product quality.
Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, including any modifications or adjustments made during assembly.
Work closely with engineering and design teams to provide feedback on assembly processes and suggest improvements for manufacturability.

Key Skills and Experience:

Experience with assembly of electromechanical or electronic assemblies.
Experience working in an electromechanical manufacturing company, a precision manufacturing company, or highvolume manufacturing company.
Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and work from drawings, controlled documentation and processes such as: layout drawings, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures/work instructions; schematics, engineering drawings, and parts list.
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Experience using basic electronic test equipment (e.g. multimeters, power supplies)
Experience with timeoptimized assembly for medium to highvolume manufacturing.

Preferred Skills:

Experience building wiring looms and cable harnesses.
Experience with Linux terminals.
Familiarity with radiofrequency technologies
Familiarity with networking technologies
Experience with electrical wiring.
Proficiency in soldering techniques for surface mount and throughhole components.
Handson experience with subGHz radiofrequency and embedded computing systems
Knowledge of best practices for installing, maintaining, and weatherproofing systems deployed in extreme environments.
