Hopewell Residential currently has an opening for a
Intermediate Draftsperson to join our team. The Junior Draftsperson will report directly to the Drafting Manager.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create plot plans, siting the home in relation to the street scape and grading the home as per community guidelines.
  • Complete drafting of customer files, spec homes, show homes and sales centers for single family projects as per the contract and within the constraints of building codes and municipal bylaws.
  • Coordinate with trade supply partners to receive necessary documents required for building permits and construction.
  • Prepare files, as needed, and submit for permit submission.
  • Verify files for accuracy and completeness at all stages of the preconstruction process.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Able to captain a task, documenting and providing leadership to another team member when asked.

Competencies:


  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in a residential drafting and design within the new home building industry.
  • Possess an Architectural Technologist Designation from a recognized postsecondary institution.
  • Proficient in the use of Auto CAD and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Team player with strong written & verbal communication and a drive for excellence.
  • Energetic individual who possess great attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Working Conditions:

Traditional core working hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evenings.
