Northplex Ltd. is a modular home company that builds and sells
solid homes in Western Canada. Our stylish modular homes are built in a 165,000 square foot climate-controlled facility in Barrhead, Alberta.

Job Summary:

Northplex Ltd. is currently seeking a Full Time Roofer located in Barrhead, AB. This position is responsible for sheathing and installation of shingles on Northplex Modular Homes.

Position Accountabilities:

Read production orders, diagrams, and specification lists
Measured roof to calculated the quantities of required materials
Installed vapor barriers and layers of insulation
Applied cold process roof coatings
Install shingles, asphalt, metal, or other materials to make the roof watertight
Setting up safety measures such as scaffolding and harnesses
Prepare all tools for shingling roof (i.e. air lines, air nailers, compressor, etc.)
Work within the larger team to create a safe, clean, and efficient workplace
Follows procedures accurately and carefully to ensure work is completed to the highest standards
Responsible for the use and care/maintenance of company tools, and equipment
Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:

Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Minimum of 12 years of roofing experience is required.
Able to read and understand blueprints, drawings and written specifications
Strong problem identification and problemsolving skills
Effectively handle hand and power tools for each specific position
Excellent teamwork and team building skills, good communication skills and strong work ethics
Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
Highly organized, willing to learn, and good attendance
Knowledge and use of basic hand and power tools
Perform duties in an organized and productive manner in a fastpaced environment
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Must be able to work at heights
