Under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, plans, directs, coordinates, and participates in all marketing & communications activities within the limits of established hotel policies and precedures, promoting and maintiang good communications to build and uphold the prestigious image of the hotel.

With high integrity, lead and develop colleagues in delivering Shangri-La hospitality from the heart, according to brand standards.

Inspire a high level of creativity, personal commitment to service excellence, and an emotional sense of gracious hospitality, ensuring delivery of 5-star experiences to guests while optimizing all revenue opportunities.

Assists in the development, coordination, and execution of all communications activities.
Assists in developing and continually adjusting strategic marketing plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.

Assists in developing and organizing promotional activites to support and fulfill Marketing and Communications plans coordinating with various departments as required.


Key areas include but are not limited to:
Designing and creating design files like menus, flyers, print ads, digital banners etc.
Drafting press releases and internal guests' communication
Handling media inquiries
Maintaing an up-to-date media database
Compiing PR reports, copywriting and creating hotel collaterals
Assisting with media filming and photoshoots
Liaising with external agencies on digital advertising campaigns, social media content, creative, and media plans
Ensures all forms of communication conforms to the specific guidelines of the Shangr-La group.
Supports the Director of Marketing & Communications with reporting: analytics and Powerpoint presentations, competitive analysis.
Helps udpate marketing collateral and tools such as the website and in-hotel touchscreens - elevators/guestroom TVs.
Ensures all communications reflect the brand identity and manifesto.
Compiles and maintains a comprehensive list of intenrational and local media and maintains and develops close rapport/relationships with them.
Compiles and maintains up-to-date information on all aspects of the property and its facilities, including digital/photographic assets. This includes, but is not limited to, Media Kits, Executive Bios, and Fact Sheets.
Copywriting and editing of all hotel materials, including but not limited to menus, hotel signage, and amenity cards.

Maintains active communication and builds teamwork amongst the key playres instrumental in the achievement of the Marketing & Communications objectives of the hotel.

Builds positive working relationships with all departments of the hotel, ensuring an understanding of the concept of Marketing & Communications.

Maintains positive communicaation and builds close rapport with the Corporate Communications Team, Corporate Digital Marketing Team, Corporate Partner and Loyalty Team, Coproate appointed Search Marketing Agency, and external partners.

Maintains the highest standard of professionalism, ethics, and attitude towards all hotel guests, clients, and colleagues.
Attends training programs as set by the hotel and other departments.
Fully complies with the hotel dress code and grooming standards and business etiquette as required by the hotel.

Is aware of the hotel hygiene, food, and fire safety control and security standrads and procedures in handling complaints or emergency situations.

Actively participates in the implementation of the hotel's ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) initiatives on the environment through the reduction in the consumption of consumables (electricity, gas, water, office supplies, and others), proper disposal of wastes in accordance with the established guidlines.

Is familiar with and complies with the requirements of ISO 14001 and the hotel's environmental managemnet system (EMS).
Performs related duties and special projects assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

Oral and written fluency in English
Degree in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations.
Expertise and proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign is essential.
Previous experience using social media analytic tools, media monitoring platforms and influencer marketing platforms.
Knowledge of video editing tools is an asset.
Must be eligible to work in Canada
