Maintenance Technician
-
Purpose of this position_**:


  • Working with the direction of the Building Services Manager and the Tenant Services Coordinator, the Maintenance Technician will work in conjunction with all maintenance department leads, building services manager, tenant services manager, grounds manager; to perform all required daily tasks to maintain the properties in first class condition and associated grounds within the portfolio.

Major Responsibilities:_

  • This position is responsible for fulfilling the ownership's goals and our tenant's requirements through efficient, timely and cost effective maintenance under the direction of the Building Services Division.
  • The main responsibilities for the Maintenance Administrator include but are not limited to:
  • Complete all maintenance requests in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and complete work orders, purchases, receipts to be submitted weekly to the Building Services Manager and to the office for processing
  • Work within the budget limits established as directed for Repairs and Maintenance
  • Notify the Shop Manager by keeping track of inventory used or needed for efficient and cost effective implementation of jobs.
  • Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors to ensure timelines and cost expectations are not being exceeded
  • Monitor and maintain building systems as required
  • Physically inspects, identifies and corrects unsafe or untidy conditions in or around the properties or grounds
  • Work with the Grounds Manager to always ensure a neat and orderly exterior of all properties, landscaping, daily litter, refuse, unusual activity etc.
  • Ensure that safety standards are used and practiced to comply with all company, local city, provincial or federal guidelines at all times
  • Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance and or repair on HVAC, Plumbing, Roofing,Lighting, Water Systems
- exterior structures; stairs, railings, fences, garbage enclosures, windows, doors etc.

  • Maintain positive and proactive Tenant relations and associated service to fulfill requests effectively and quickly
  • Assist in the winter months to salt entryways, shovel ramps; must be able to lift 50lbs.

KEY SKILLS:_

Knowledge in a variety of trade areas common to the field of building maintenance

Knowledge of the use and operation of hand tools, power tools and light equipment, ie dump trailers etc.

Carpentry, basic plumbing, drywall work, painting are required

Must possess good oral and written communication skills and the ability to read blueprint drawings is an asset

Salary:
From $50,000.00 per year
