Control Systems Integrator

Pickling & Cold Rolling Business Unit


A Control Systems Integrator will be part of a highly specialized team that is responsible for a broadrange of automation technologies across 4 large scale assets.

You will be integrated into a specific asset's teamas control systems support working with other disciplines to meet reliability, improvement, and maintenanceobjectives.


As a Control Systems Integrator, the core function will be to have a highly technical understanding of the PLC's across multiple assets along with their various communication protocols, drive systems, SCADA, andvisualization systems in order to resolve issues and implement improvements.

You will work effectively with otherdisciplines as part of a diverse team that demonstrates continuous improvement thinking, excellent problem-solving methodologies, and innovative solutions for equipment maintenance and reliability.


Responsibilities:


  • Implement specific equipment solutions or control systems under given frame work for a local area and/or for specific equipment type.
  • Assist others in any reliability or improvement initiative within the measurement and control system field and assist in the design, implementation an commissioning of any control system.
  • Follow system lock outs prepared by senior team members before working on any process equipment (electrical, hydraulic, air)
  • Follow instructions from mentors to perform physical or software work on any process sensor or measurement devices (thickness gauges, shape systems, ASIS systems, robots and associated devices, width gauges, smart cameras, etc.)
  • Assist with and develop knowledge about advanced sensors (i.e. width gauges, thickness gauges, etc.).
  • Implements minor improvements to the control systems in a local area and/or for specific equipment under the direction from senior team member.
  • Work within activity groups through problem solving of any measurement or control problem (PLC'sPC's, sensors)
  • Assist senior team members with maintaining and reviewing spare parts in the CMMS system to ensure parts are available when required.
  • Assist the Control & Drives System and Instrumentation group in rectifying sensor issues within the various process control systems.
  • Work closely with corporate IT groups to maintain level 0/1 Windows based computers and servers

Education & Experience:


  • 3year advanced college diploma in electrical, controls, robotics, mechatronics, or similar field
  • Minimum 35 years' experience working directly with electrical control systems and/or robotics is required
  • Good troubleshooting skills with Electrical, Mechanical, and Networking are required
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Control Systems is required
  • General knowledge of Electrical standards is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to take initiative; highly selfmotivated.

Work Environment:


  • Combination of office, shop and plant environment
  • Personal protective safety equipment as required in the plant.

Schedule:


  • Monday to Thursday 10.5 hour dayshifts, with overtime as required
  • Shared 24/7 callin support required
