Description
Scheduling Responsibilities
- Assist the management team in planning, and coordinating construction activities including crew and equipment
- Establish, monitor and updates construction work schedule in Quickbooks Time
- Assist with approval of employee hours
- Assist with management and coordination of subcontractors and out of town lodging
- Participate in scheduling and planning meetings
- Collaborate with foreman to support all crewing and project needs
- Identify changes to the project schedule and its impacts (e.g. contract impact)
- Interface with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met
Safety & Site Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for construction projects and submit relevant documentation
- Complete and verify site measurements as required
- Attend pretender site visits and review existing site conditions
- Provide scope of work clarification to construction teams and clients
- Assist in reviewing operator's daily safety paperwork
- Perform random onsite safety audits
Estimating Responsibilities
- Work closely with Estimating Manager/Project Manager
- Actively obtain tender documents from online bid posting sites
- Review tender specifications, drawings, Geotech reports, subcontract documents
- Identify all potential contract risks and liaison with Estimator/PM for advice
- Perform quantity calculations and full takeoffs for relative tender items
- Followup and provide tender results
- Provide estimating and project management backup as required
- Manage monthly cumulative costing reports
- Perform such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor/manager
Working Conditions
- Standard 50 hours per week
- Daily exposure to construction environment i.e. heavy equipment, oncoming traffic, inclement weather (heat, cold, rain etc.)
Qualifications
- Valid full class G drivers license
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals and objectives
- Details focused, highly organized, flexible, and works effectively with shifting priorities and rapid change
- Effectively examines events, issues and problems to generate optimal solutions in a timely manner
- Communicates with impact and creates an environment in which people communicate openly and honestly
- Fosters a culture of teamwork amongst the labour force
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Experience
- Minimum college diploma (civil preferred) or equivalent construction industry experience.

Salary:
$50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
