Job Summary:_On both an individual and group basis, the Community Inclusion Worker supports the quality of life for the persons we serve by ensuring that their physical, social, vocational, educational and medical needs are met. The Community Inclusion Worker participates as part of the team responsible for implementing all aspects of the participant's program, including agency policies, procedures and philosophy.

Education, Training and Experience_

  • Community Support Worker Certificate or equivalent
  • Three months' experience delivering similar services supporting individuals with disabilities in community
  • Valid WCB approved First Aid and CPR certification
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Basic computer skills preferably experience with Microsoft Office
  • Class 5 driver's license (Class 4 preferred) and own vehicle

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities_

  • Knowledge of theory, values and practices in community living including support systems
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate, provide personalized support and teach life skills to participants
  • Ability to work alone and unsupervised, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to perform lifts and transfers of clients
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated good time and general management skills

  • To advocate for individuals and families so they obtain needed support
  • To teach individuals and families selfadvocacy skills
  • To advocate for support and change within the systems that affect participants and their families
